Summer student training programme

When: The call to apply is usually open from mid-January until mid-February with the nine-week programme running in the following summer.

Who: This programme is open to undergraduate students who are performing well on their degree course.

More information: The Crick’s nine-week Summer Student Training Programme provides undergraduates with the opportunity to get hands-on training and experience in scientific research and find out what a career in biomedical research might be like. The programme pairs undergraduate students with postdoctoral supervisors who will train and develop the students as they participate in institute life in one of our research groups over the summer. The students benefit from a supportive and stimulating training environment that will provide both scientific and transferable skills development over the summer.

Sandwich student programme

When: The call to apply to the programme is usually open from mid-September until in mid-January.

Who: This programme is open to undergraduate students who are in their second year of study (if in England, Wales, NI) or third year of study (in Scotland) with one further year of study to complete after the placement year.

More information: Sandwich students join one of the Crick’s research groups or science technology platforms for 12 months, working on a defined research project. As well as benefiting from well-resourced research labs and state-of-the-art facilities, students are provided with a supportive and stimulating work environment, and scientific and transferrable skills training. Students will be paid a salary that meets the London Living Wage.
