Individual commitments by staff and students

  • Professor Martin Siegert is co-Chair of the UK Diversity in Polar Science Initiative (DiPSI).
  • Professor Richard Templer is Chair of the Chemistry Department’s Recruitment working group.
  • Dr Bonnie Waring is a mentor through the Women In Soil Ecology program.
  • Gosia Gayer is a Mental Health First Aider.
  • Simon Levey helped the Imperial600 LGBT+ Staff Network to establish a reverse mentoring programme whereby senior staff can benefit from regular meetings with someone from a minority group at the College. Simon is co-investigator of a project to establish stakeholder mapping and relationships with groups that cross-sect environmental interests and minority characteristics, which won funding from Imperial’s EDI Centre Seed Fund.
  • Anne Houston attended UKCGE International Conference on Health and Wellbeing of Postgraduate Researchers.
  • Professor Sir Brian Hoskins spoke at an LGBT+ History Month 2021 event about climate change for the Imperial600 LGBT+ Staff Network, as part of a panel discussion “The other big issue in the room (Imperial access only)” that focused on climate change and workplace inclusivity for LGBT+ people.
  • Dr Neil Jennings is on the Trustee Board of the Reach Foundation that is trying to improve educational and life opportunities for those from the Feltham community.
